Production Update 2 - Editing.

 We have started editing the new footage we filmed of Lucy's Dad, as well as continuing to edit our original footage of Lucy in the dream. We hope to edit every new piece of footage we film as we go along, ensuring that it is the best it can be before the final cut.

We have been trying out different techniques, such as playing with effects to make our opening sequence darker/lighter at different points. We originally had music at the start of our piece, but after recieving negative feedback from our peers we decided to change to ambient sound so it is less mellowdramatic.

We have been trying to work as a team as much as possible, swapping roles inbetween editing to share the workload. We aim to get some more filming done this weekend in order to continue editing next week.

Production titles.

We have chosen to use Entertainment One as the main films we took inspiration from used this production title; insidious and woman in black. Therefore it fits our genre.

 

We made our own production title as well over the weekend. We done this using First Cut. We chose the name "Stonegate" as it is original. Our production title is dramatic and fits our genre well.

Costumes

This is the costume Lucy was wearing in the first dream sequence we filmed. However, we feel that to make our sequence look more realistic she should be wearing something different next time we feel, to show a change in timing.

Lucy's Dad was dressed quite basically, in just jeans and a plain black tshirt. He was drinking out of a whiskey glass to show the audience that he has developed an alcohol problem.

Production Update

We have already filmed a lot of the dream scene - although we will need to add more to it, we have started to film close up's on Lucy's Dad during the dream, to show his irritation and distress through twitching and facial expressions.

 

From this image of our production schedule you can see that we are already ahead of it, with two sets of filming already done.

 

Over the weekend I made our production logo, I made this using first cut and we hope to edit it into our opening sequence at some point today.

Locations

We will be using two main locations to film our production.
The main location will be showing flashbacks which will be Lucy's Dad's dream. We will film this in a forest or in areas near our house to show her running around.
The other main location we will be using will be my house, this will show Lucy's Dad as he turns to alcohol as a result of the loss of his daughter. He will then fall into a deep sleep, when the flashbacks of Lucy in his dream will begin.

This is the house that we will be using - both to film inside and to use the areas surrounding it to show Lucy playing in the dream.

This is the doors which we will be using when Lucy's Dad wakes up. There will be a handprint that will come up on the window to show Lucy is in a supernatural state.

This will be in the background when Lucy's handprint comes up. We may also film a few of the shots of the dream here.

This will be where Lucy's Dad falls asleep after becoming intoxicated by the alcohol. After this he will slip into the dream of Lucy playing.
